Hapou began in 2007 with one goal in mind—to build a strong network of pet lovers across the world. But we also wanted to establish a place on the Web where pet lovers could share their pet with others in the global pet community. It also had to be a place where people can store and organize all those precious moments as easily as possible.
Jonathan Ward is hapou’s social interaction manager, responsible for product management, new business development, partnerships and all around making things happen. Ward joined hapou from Wine.com, the number one online retailer of wine, where he served as their Corporate Business Sales Manager, splitting his time between sales and account management for large corporate accounts. Prior to Wine.com, Ward worked in a variety of positions in the wine industry, where he gained experience in e-commerce, sales and administration. During this period, he spent much of his time learning web based media and design as a personal hobby, as well as develop his palate for fine wines. In 2006, Ward graduated from Sonoma State University with a BA in Political Science. In 2007, Ward left the States to study at Helsinki School of Economics in Helsinki Finland where he studied Business Administration and Marketing. There he honed his skills in Business and realized his passion for social media and marketing.
Bobby Marhamat is the Founder and CEO of hapou. He is a successful serial entrepreneur with a broad range of expertise and industry experience. Marhamat has significant experience in product development and marketing management in a range of industries from the mobile phone, retail, IT outsourcing, and software development industries. With substantial experience in developing systems that use behavioral marketing techniques to marry merchants with consumer needs and wants, Marhamat has been able to increase marketing ROI in a number of companies including Sprint Nextel, Looksmart, Verizon Wireless and Macy’s. Marhamat has deep and significant expertise in the mobile phone industry – working with Sprint Nextel and Verizon Wireless for the last ten years. Marhamat worked closely with Ask.com while managing the online advertising portal for the paid search platform at Ask Companies’. Merging years of online marketing excellence with retail and shopping experience, Marhamat was able to identify potholes that would increase revenue by 5-15% on a recurring basis. Marhamat recently earned an advanced social media marketing certification from the University of San Francisco in September, 2010. Marhamat also received a B.S. in Management Information Systems from San Jose University. Marhamat completed an advanced degree in Business Administration in 2005. Marhamat also was the author of a book specific to the proper ways to launch an IT business called, “On Your Set, Mark, Grow!” in 2007. In 2010, Marhamat wrote the book, Trying to Keep My Business from Being Left Behind in this Social Media World”. Marhamat is currently a social media marketing consultant for businesses looking to adopt social media into their marketing mix.
